The Revolution is Coming

he death of Mike Brown
has set off a revolution for change. People are tired of the injustice of racial inequality, police brutality and inept leadership
. Peaceful protestors have had their civil and constitutional rights violated while facing down tanks, amoured SWAT trucks, assault and sniper rifles, dogs, rubber bullets and have been tear gassed on a daily basis. If the President of the United States of America publicly admonishes the police brutality, things must in dire straits. "There is no excuse for police to use excessive force against peaceful protests, or to throw protestors in jail for lawfully exercising their First Amendment rights. And here, in the United States of America, police should not be bullying or arresting journalists who are just trying to do their jobs and report to the American people on what they see on the ground. Put simply, we all need to hold ourselves to a high standard, particularly those of us in positions of authority." When the police threaten to shoot the main stream media, you know shit has spiraled out of control.
This is the same media that would report the rhetoric bullshit the police and government would feed them without doing any fact checking, assist with the victim assassinations and smear campaigns. While the police and government officials
have made critical errors in the last week, pissing all over the media may have been the biggest. Reporters and producers have been tear gassed, arrested, shot at, guns pulled on them and threatened and on national television. The reporting is no longer bias in favor of one side, and news articles are examining police brutality
, victims of overzealous cops, out of touch city officials
and the broken justice system.
Things are really fucked up in America when Egypt is calling for the police to use restraint when dealing with protestors. Let that sink in for a minute.... EGYPT is having to remind the United States of America to use International Standards while dealing with protestors. The U.N. has called on authorities to protect the rights of the protestors. The irony is not lost on me it would be the same authorities that are allowing this to happen. Perhaps it is not shocking to the leaders of the United states of America to have a 90 year old holocaust survivor handcuffed and hauled away to jail or Amnesty International ordered to leave the area by GUNPOINT
. A legal observer from the National Lawyers Guild
was arrested. The reality this is happening in a country that condemns and lays sanctions against other countries for the same violations is stupefying.
The media have been harassed by the police to the point that the ACLU sued Ferguson to stop bullying the media and WON. Even with an injunction the police are willing to harass, threaten, and arrest the media without provocation, what is an ordinary citizen having to endure? The protests are taking place for justice but also for the abuse of power to cease. The government is out of touch with the people, the harder they try to oppress the people the harder the people are going to fight. This has become a national issue and people are rising up to have their voices heard. Perhaps the government needs a history lesson, some of the most profound wars have been won by the people who did not have the biggest and newest weapons but the shear will and determination for change.
